  11.   Com 64 Grapher is a useful tool for
  12.  
  13. small-business people, students,
  14.  
  15. and/or any person who desires to
  16.  
  17. visually express numbers relative to
  18.  
  19. one another. Grapher is a program
  20.  
  21. that allows you to design the format
  22.  
  23. of vertical bar graphs with up to 60
  24.  
  25. numbers, displayed on four screens
  26.  
  27. that can contain up to 15 bar graphs
  28.  
  29. each.
  30.  
  31.   At the start of the program, the
  32.  
  33. following menu is displayed:
  34.  
  35.  
  36.       [S]tart a new graph file
  37.       [R]ead a file from disk
  38.       [W]rite a file to disk
  39.       [A]dd to existing data
  40.       [C]hange prior entry
  41.       [F]ormat change
  42.       [L]ist current data
  43.       [G]raph data
  44.  
  45.  
  46. To access any of these options, press
  47.  
  48. the appropriate letter.
  49.  
  50.  
  51. START A NEW FILE
  52. ================
  53.  
  54.   When you enter this option, your
  55.  
  56. first task is to establish the format
  57.  
  58. for the graph. Enter the minimum
  59.  
  60. value of the data to be graphed. The
  61.  
  62. vertical axis is measured in five
  63.  
  64. increments and you must specify the
  65.  
  66. increment value.
  67.  
  68.   The range of values permissable in
  69.  
  70. your graph equals the value of the
  71.  
  72. bottom axis plus five times the
  73.  
  74. vertical interval.
  75.  
  76.   Specify the name of your graph and
  77.  
  78. specify a label for the data being
  79.  
  80. plotted along the horizontal axis.
  81.  
  82.   Once the format is complete,
  83.  
  84. you are prompted to enter "a" for
  85.  
  86. bars to be the same color or "b" for
  87.  
  88. bars to be different colors. If you
  89.  
  90. select "a" then the bars are red on a
  91.  
  92. black background.
  93.  
  94.   Next, you are prompted to enter the
  95.  
  96. graph values. You can enter up to 60
  97.  
  98. numbers. If a number is out of the
  99.  
  100. range that you specified, it is
  101.  
  102. refused and bad entry statement is
  103.  
  104. displayed. To exit the entry mode,
  105.  
  106. enter -1. This takes you back to the
  107.  
  108. menu.
  109.  
  110.  
  111. READ A FILE FROM DISK
  112. =====================
  113.  
  114.   This option reads data from a disk
  115.  
  116. file that you have previously
  117.  
  118. created.  Merely enter the correct
  119.  
  120. filename and the data will be loaded.
  121.  
  122.  
  123. WRITE A FILE TO DISK
  124. ====================
  125.  
  126.   This option creates a disk file
  127.  
  128. using the data that resides in memory.
  129.  
  130.  
  131. ADD TO EXISTING FILE
  132. ====================
  133.  
  134.   This option picks up where you
  135.  
  136. stopped entering numbers and allows
  137.  
  138. you to add to your data. To exit this
  139.  
  140. mode, enter "-1".
  141.  
  142.  
  143. CHANGE A PRIOR ENTRY
  144. ====================
  145.  
  146.   Here, you are prompted to enter the
  147.  
  148. entry number that you wish to change.
  149.  
  150. Next, you are prompted to enter the
  151.  
  152. color number of that entry. If you
  153.  
  154. wish to leave the color as is, then
  155.  
  156. enter the same color number that is
  157.  
  158. shown to you.
  159.  
  160.  
  161. FORMAT CHANGE
  162. =============
  163.  
  164.   This option allows you to change
  165.  
  166. the range of your graph. You are
  167.  
  168. prompted to enter the minimum value
  169.  
  170. of the vertical intervals.
  171.  
  172.  
  173. LIST CURRENT DATA
  174. =================
  175.  
  176.   This option does two things:
  177.  
  178. displays the data in the file; and
  179.  
  180. displays the highest, lowest, and
  181.  
  182. average values of your data.
  183.  
  184.  
  185. GRAPH DATA
  186. ==========
  187.  
  188.   This option displays your data in
  189.  
  190. graph form. When displayed, you
  191.  
  192. are prompted to enter "p" to print the
  193.  
  194. graph or any other key to return to
  195.  
  196. the menu.
